I need someone familiar with Task Scheduler on Windows 2003 - we have a server on which we need a particular batch file (Bat file?) to run every 3 hours as administrator - every 3 hours, the bat file would run and execute a series of dos commands. We would edit the file from time to time, to add a command line to it or remove a command line, but we want the file to be executed every 3 hours - make sense? I can explain in more detail when we talk. We have tech developers familiar with ruby rails / html5 / flash / SQL / all forms of programming - but we lack anyone who knows how to use the task scheduler on Windows 2003 server - can you help?

Hi, I have worked quite a bit on task schedulers ( AT on Windows 2003, 2008 servers and Cron on Linux systems). I have a Windows 2003 system at present where I can develop and test similar windows scripts as you need. Creating /Configuring a scheduler to run a .bat file ( or even a bunch of .bat files ) at specific interval will be implemented. In fact, every periodic run ( @ 3 hours for example) should also leave a trail of log messages so that you may track failures / success. The scheduler will also have intelligence to delete old log files ( say at a periodicity of a day ) if you want. Since I have a Windows 2003 box, it will be easier in handling similar requests if you have in future as well. BR, Dip
