Hello.
The bid I have placed is based on an hourly work rate (the minimum I could post). I am new to online freelancing (but very au fait with temping) and was not sure from the description you posted as to exactly what is required.
Here is what I know:
The industry standard for transcribing audio files is 1:4 - that is, for every hour of audio, allow 4x that to transcribe. I can do most audio at a rate of 3x if it is clean and clear audio.
It is very easy and cheap to acquire a little handheld dictation machine from any appliance store - they are all digital these days and are saved on your computer as a file which you then email to me. I can accept any file with the extension .WAV, .MP3, .WMV, .DSS and .DS2. These are emailed to me, I use my system to listen to it using my own foot pedal and send you back the completed work.
Now, why you should hire me!
I have extensive temping experience as a Secretary/PA in London in the 1990s. Back in New Zealand in 1995 I have been a Legal Secretary until the end of 2010. During my time as a Legal Secretary I mainly worked in Conveyancing and especially enjoyed my years working for a Family Lawyer - typing Orders, Applications, Affidavits, and so on.
I look forward to hearing from you - of course we can discuss my bid (I had to put in a minimum) and to discuss further aspects of what the job entails.
Regards
Ann Kenny
