BoS EU 2016 Video Transcription

This assignment is to watch a conference talk and transcribe the talk into text. It is suitable for individuals who speak and write UK English fluently, preferably as a first language and can type at speeds of more than 60 words per minute. Please refer to the notes. If these guidelines are not followed, we will not be able to accept the transcript. Notes • Please transcribe directly into a Word document. • Please leave a clear line between paragraphs. • In circumstances, where there is more than one speaker, the speakers should be identified as 'sp1', 'sp2' etc. At the beginning of each new speaker, a new paragraph should be started. • The main task of this assignment is to record the speech. Any additional annotation, such as applause, cheering, clapping, laughter etc should be noted in square brackets. [Applause], [Laughter] etc. However, you can leave out any pauses, erms or stutters etc from the speaker and coughs from audience • If there are words/phrases that you cannot identify, please mark them using [login to view URL] time stamp • Transcripts should be written in UK English. Please note that your feedback could be marked down if UK English spellings are not used. The assignment is based on a competent and rapid typist being able to transcribe within two plays of a speech. In other tests, the transcription has been done in one pass. The time allowed for each individual has been set to 24 hours. If you are not able to complete the assignment within the designated time frame, please contact us as soon as possible so that we may extend your time or assign to another Freelancer.
