Chat room userplane similier chat room for shared hosting

We have an online community site that is growing very fast our current asp chat room cannot handle the volumes. We want a purpose build chat room that can either be an ActiveX control or VB/asp solution. The only data that I want to pass into it is the username appart from that the app should be standalone. Basic requirments :has to be able to handle upto 1000 concurrent users. Has to be able to send private messages Has to be configurable from GUI - to make new types of room, to moderate, and to be able to ban. The ability for the front end to be easily changed.
