I am holding my idea of that system for myself but i had an offer from my university to sell them my prototype of that system but i refuzed to do that because they offered to me ~300$. I would like to explain Big Data at first : ). The concept of Big Data is that you can process orders placed by users, and use it to predict what they would like to buy. For e.g. I own a store which sells daily use items. Mark has been visiting my store since the past 2 years. Everytime he buys pancakes , he also buys maple syrup. I notice a lot of customers do that too. So now, everytime a customer buys pancakes I can suggest pancakes to him. Big Data automates this processing. If I had a website for daily use items. Big Data Analysis would calculate that people normally buy pancakes and maple syrup together by looking at all orders placed by all the customers. Then it automatically starts showing maple syrup as a suggestion for people who buy pancakes. But for Big Data to work properly, you need a lot of order data. For a new website with no users , there is no data. So while you might get a lot of ideas here involving big data, getting the data will be a problem. One interesting way to solve this is by having the website login using facebook. We take all the user data on facebook login, including his likes. So lets say that I like 'Sony' page on facebook. Then if i search for mobiles on your website, it will automatically rank sony phones on the top since I like the 'Sony' page on facebook. This way I get a feeling that the website understands my taste, but it reality its Big Data at work. :) Would you like me to explain this idea in detail? :)
