Convert a Template to a Website

Hi. I am looking to open an ecommerce website and have decided to go with joomla virtuemart. Thats because I would like to have a blog too. So I can have the ecommerce and virtuemart website ready. What I need help is to link the blog to the joomla virtuemart items. Precisely what I would want to happen is this. I would like some of my items which are in the virtuemart inventory into my blog. My customers reading the blog should have an option to add these items directly from the blog to their shopping cart. The items which needs to be shown on a particular blog page should be configurable from the joomla backend.
