I was part of our school newspaper as a writer and continued on developing my skills by taking up a course in college that included that. I was once an intern in a newspaper for several months and have had significant experience in working on literary works, such as editing books for a previous client that was a publishing house. Below is a sample written/edited work I have done. It is an excerpt from a book. (1) Johan placed the newly-framed map he had worked on along with the others and began to carefully clear his desk of the tools he had used. With the light of his desk lamp switched off, he headed straight for the kitchen with the used coffee cup in one hand. He stood in front of the dishwasher, surveyed it closely first before he decided that the dishes could still wait another day. On the way back to his desk, he stopped right by the dresser and turned to the right the photograph of his wife encased in a silver picture frame. He opened the dresser and grabbed his favorite whiskey glass. Out of an obsessive habit, he wiped it with his sleeve until he was satisfied that there were no longer any dust in it. He opened his bottle of Glenmorangie, poured himself about half a glass, and raised it to his eye level to stare at the golden honey liquid that sparkled underneath the dim light.
