Hello Freelancer, Chances are good that you know someone that plays the lottery. This assumption is based upon the billions that are spent annually on lottery tickets which has sells that outperform all other forms of entertainment combined. With so few winners, why do people continue to play? This question is in part the basis of our research, along with answering the following questions: 1. Do chosen lottery numbers from the lottery occur in drawings with equal probability? 2. Is there a game strategy that outperforms others? 3. Is the performance of a strategy effective in multiple states? This research aims to prove that strategies exist that gives players a significantly better chance to win than most other methods. The data will be collected from state Lotto websites following the drawings and placed into categories based upon the three research questions. For the study, testers will receive five Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to simulate lotto tickets and numbers. Each spreadsheet will be representative of 1,710 tickets. The performance of this strategy is gauged by the average number of matches to the winning numbers chosen in thirty draws. The winning numbers will be collected internally. If the lotto numbers from your spreadsheet numbers correctly match the winning numbers for a jackpot, we will notify you and ask for you to confirm the match from the spreadsheet, and write a short statement answering the three questions. To confirm the winning numbers from Excel, you would open the designated document and complete a three step process. If you have experience using Quip, that's an added bonus. Upon on-boarding, you will receive Quip access and training, if needed. Here is where comments and addition information regarding the daily research will be located.
