Delphi LDAP integration for checking user credentials inActive Directory

Hello, I’m looking into how LDAP, or LOGON_USER would pass user credentials or validate the user specifically. It seems possible, but unclear on encryption and implementation. The description of the project is below. The overall goal of the project is a popup that allows the user to type in the Domain\Username & Password of the user. then this will check the machine/AD if the username has a specific security group assigned to them. I believe LDAP integration would be the easiest. If it does it approves and allows them access, if it fails it denies access. it's for windows 7/10 machines written in Delphi and in RAD studio.
