We have a custom tree control that we would like to improve:
1) Ability to handle 10000 items with smooth scrolling (improve performance) - THIS HAS BEEN FIXED ALREADY
2) Ability to scroll using mouse wheel
Additional items added 3/2/2012
3) Ability to add new node (one item at a time only, indicating the parent)
4) Ability to delete a node and its children
5) Ability to change the parent of a node (the node could have children too)
6) Ability to programmatically select a node to focus on, and automatically set that node to be the relevant node and scroll the tree so we can see it.
NOTE: Our custom tree control is a stackable tree control that dynamically expands or collapses nodes as you scroll up and down.
Control is written for Windows Forms in VB.NET and C++ using Visual Studio 2010 and the .NET Framework 3.5.

The way the control works is it always tries to display the ancestors of the relevant node which is the one displayed in the middle of the control. In order to always display the ancestors it sometimes will have to collapse (hide) the previous siblings of the relevant node so the ancestors stay visible at the top forming a stack. This allows the user scrolling a huge list of nodes to know what the parent and ancestors are, and keep track of where in the tree structure he currently is in.
