Pattern Recognition Formula Needed: Each cell input in the sequence will either be "above", "bellow" or "middle" (only 3 possible variables). For Example: CELL A1 = above CELL A2 = bellow CELL A3 = bellow CELL A4 = bellow CELL A5 = above CELL A6 = bellow CELL A7 = middle CELL A8 = bellow ETC... As you can see, the same variable may appear consecutively like CELL A2 through A4. But, it will only / can only appear a maximum of 50 consecutive times. So, I need someone to create a formula that will identify when two specific patterns occur (independently): PATTERN #1 Above > Middle > Bellow > Middle > Bellow PATTERN #2 Bellow > Middle > Above > Middle > Above But, the formula must take into account when conecutive variables appear. For Example: CELL A1 = above CELL A2 = middle CELL A3 = middle CELL A4 = bellow CELL A5 = middle CELL A6 = bellow In this sequence PATTERN #2 did actually occur, even though CELL A2 & A3 are consecutive occurances of a single variable. Another Example: CELL A1 = above CELL A2 = middle CELL A3 = middle CELL A4 = bellow CELL A5 = bellow CELL A6 = bellow CELL A7 = middle CELL A8 = middle CELL A9 = middle CELL A10 = bellow In this example PATTERN #2 also occured, even though there where conecutive occurances of the same variable back to back.
