Hi,
Thanks for posting this project. It sounds both challenging and rewarding, something my wife and I would tackle together.
She would be my consultant on this project bringing her 45 years as an RN to the table. Her experience in pediatrics and psych, together with our experience raising three girls who are now in their 20’s and 30’s and who have children of their own, gives us a deep understanding of the vicissitudes of life.
As for the project itself, I have outlined the steps we would need to take as the work progresses in the milestones section of the proposal.
Writing a book is a bit like painting a room—as much work often goes into the prep work as the painting itself.
The prep work here would include chats to discuss such things as 1) what you want your audience to get out of your book, 2) type of book—self-help, inspirational, bio, 3) delivery of source material, etc., what we would call the Scope of Work.
After that, I would develop an outline of the book and submit it for your approval together with a 4-page sample of the first chapter.
Then, writing the book itself would commence as outlined.
To provide ample time for discussions, I can’t see this being done in less than 30 days.
This proposal is for a book of 40,000 words or less and would be delivered in Word format.
My fee is at the top end of your budget, but I think it is a realistic view of what is entailed. I believe we will deliver the best value for your investment.
Thanks!
Kent
