Currenlty I need to write additional 4 classes: 1. Send a message 2. Are there any waiting messages? 3. Get next message 4. Get all messages This project is a text messaging server. Text messages are a single line of ASCII test, sent to a single user. The two components of this system are; a message server that manages the messages and a telnet client that can be used to connect to the server and to send and receive messages. In the current state of the project users are able to log-in and log out from the server. It is lacking the functionality above (see points 1-4) and it is your job to finish it off. . Program in the current form can be compiled and run, you can also connect to it using telnet. The already implemented server requires a password file which is provided once the project is granted to one you guys. The server already includes serveral classes which are documented and are easy to understand.

Hi, I made a bid on your project. Might be some inconsistencies in current description, but implementation should be relatively straightforward, with client/server stub implementations given. It should be made clear how SINGLE user (client) who receives message from another user (client) is selected from among all the users. Currently this is lacking from the text-based protocol description. I am currently in GMT+1 timezone and could do the project quickly. best, Taimo

Hi, Java expert here. Can I see your existing code so I can get a better understanding of the project? How does a client use the app? Do they give commands? For example, do they send 'messages' via telnet to get a message, etc? In other words, does the server need to notify the user of new messages real time or is it only on request? I assume that you need to implement your server from scratch (not using third party libraries)? I'm asking this because the time needed to code the project may be shortened if third party libraries (eg. Apache) are allowed. For further details about me you can check my profile :) Regards Maja
