Joomla CSV upload

We would like an improvement on how we upload courses to our website. Specific skills required: PHP/MySQL and Joomla. We have a bespoke Joomla component that is used to display training courses and take bookings. The website is [login to view URL] CURRENT METHOD: 1. We receive a schedule of courses. 2. We filter down to the information that matches one course template (Course Master). 3. We create a CSV file containing the dates only. 4. The CSV file is uploaded to the Course Master. THE PROPOSED METHOD: 1. We receive a schedule of courses. 2. We add the appropriate Course Master ID from the Joomla component. 3. We create a CSV file containing the Course Master ID and the dates*: 4. The CSV file is uploaded to the component via the most appropriate view**. *A better approach might be that we skip step 3 by uploading all the columns in step 2, but only columns A, H, I and J (Course Master ID, Start Date, Interim Dates, End Date) are added to the database. OR – is it possible that the headers could be recognised, so that the entire file is uploaded with the columns in any order, with any number of columns, but only the appropriate headed columns are added to the database? **POSSIBLE VIEWS: Courses view (displays all courses in system) - [login to view URL] Or Provider Schedules view (not currently used – unsure of its intended use.
