Wep-App Developement for a Conference App For the Digital Marketing Conference 2017, BMW needs an application that displays various information and enables users to rate sessions of the conference. This application is our department´s flagship- a top notch design is required. Technology: -Based on web app technology (client-server application) -Accessible from desktop computer, tablets and mobile phones: responsiveness required -App needs to be tested on different smartphones, tablets and on computers Main Functions: -Displaying of various contents such as agenda, single events, information (directions, location, FAQ, evening event etc.). The agenda is to be differentiated into 3 groups (each group sees all single events but in 3 different orders) -Login Function: Before users can see content of the website (see screenshot below), they have to login using a predefined code. We will hand out those codes at the beginning of the event. Each user has to login once with a specific code and stays logged in for the time of the event. Only once users are logged in, they can see the main screen and all other screens of the application. -Live Rating Function: During the event, participants can rate each single event. Create some basic statistics of the rating such as average rating per single event, etc. We need those statistics to optimize the event for the next year. -The live rating function requires a login function so each visitor can only rate each single event once. The login information should be predefined (username: sdfj92 password: oiw2d) and will be given to the participants of the conference at the beginning of day 1. -Live discussions and commenting -Access to the server backend to get rating statistics -Ask Questions (Live): during an event, users can ask questions which will be read in the plenum at the end of a session for discussion purpose. Questions can simple be inserted into a text field once clicked on “Discuss” and will be sent to the backend. Presenters can access those questions in the live sessions via the backend of the website. Details on rating function: -In the agenda, users can rate each „item“=single event once. -Once a rating is placed, the information is sent to the server and updates the database for this specific user. -The database can be accessed through a website access to show statistics -Aggregated data of all users is to be collected for each single event and is to be placed into an excel file (or there is a backend site on which all statistics can be viewed) Timing: -The app needs to be ready by no later than 25.02.2017. Testing takes place from 25.02. until 1.03. -Final completion of the project: 1.03.2017 Nice to have Functions Polls function Sketches Attached are sketches to understand what the web app should look like. The first image shows the front page of the web app while not being logged in. The second screen shows the front page of the web app once logged in. The third screen shows the agenda and integrated live rating and live discussion functions of the app. I am currently preparing a screen which shows how to rate a session. Design The Design of the Application is very important to us since my department represents the central digital marketing of BMW. The app should look modern.
