75563 Chat Client in Qt

Simple Chat Program =================== Description: ------------ A simple chat program is needed that allows messaging between users. There should be 3 parts in the user interface. 1) At the top there should be a combobox with a list of all possible recipients and with an option to choose all users. (i.e. user1 | user2 | user3 | ... | user4 | all users ) 2) A text area in which all incoming messages will be displayed by printing the username followed by the message. 3) A text field to send messages to the user selected in the combobox. As soon as return is pressed in that field, the message will be sent to the user selected in the combobox and to the user that wrote the message. Requirements: ------------- Good knowledge of C++, Qt, Java Servlets or PHP, MySQL Specifications: --------------- Server: The server side should be a java servlet or php application and may use mysql for persistent storage. It can retrieve the list of users from the database, as well as store messages there until they are recieved by the intended recipients. Client: The client side should be written in C++ using the Qt application framework. The final deliverable for the client app will be a Qt Widget that can be embedded in our application.
