Question and Answer System

We need a question and answer service to add to our website. This service will allow our members to submit questions to experts online. See the attachment for a detailed description of this project. This project must be completed no later than February 3rd. ## Deliverables Refer to [[login to view URL]][1] to see example of what we would like to add to our website. **Multi-level Category Q&A System** * Multi-level categories for question topics * Admin can create unlimited number of categories and subcategories * A visitor selects a question category and they can choose to view the Q&A in this category or view a list of experts in this category. The list of experts displays each expert’s expertise, a link to their profile, if they are available and a link to submit a question to this expert. The list of experts is alphabetized. Admin can choose which fields of data to show on the list of experts page. * Each list of questions will show a symbol next to any question which is unanswered. This will save the user from clicking on a question which has no answer. * Printable Q&A ??" one click and the Q&A is converted to a printer-friendly version * Visitors can email a Q&A to a friend (“Tell-a-Friend??) * Each individual Q&A has a section which displays “Print??, “Tell a Friend?? and “Submit Question to this Expert??, a link to this Expert’s “profile page?? and related questions. * Automatic related questions structure. Admin has the option to show related questions so when a visitor views a Q&A, the page also displays a list of links to related questions. * Advanced search options - Visitors can search Q&A by expert’s name, category, date range and keywords * The most recent 5 Q&A’s are always displayed under each category. Admin can change this number in their administration panel. All previous articles go into archives. Admin can place the Q&A archive pages in a password protected area of our website to control who gets to view them. These archived Q&As should remain categorized and be searchable by the users. * Visitors can view a list of all the experts in the system. This list of experts displays the category of each expert, each expert’s expertise, a link to their profile, if they are available and a link to submit a question to this expert. This list of experts is alphabetized. Admin can choose which fields of data to show on this page. **Question and Answer Submission** * Admin can set the fields for the question submission form * The visitor can choose to make their question private which means that it will not be published on the website. * Experts can be notified at a specified email address that they have received a question and must login to our website to view it * Visitors are notified at a specified email address that they have received an answer. This email gives them a link to the page with the answer. * When the user views the answer to their question, they have the following options: “Ask Follow-up?? to send a follow-up question to the expert, “Email Me a Copy of the Answer?? to email a copy of this answer to their own email address. * All email addresses for Visitors and Experts are hidden and confidential * Experts can add comments to another expert’s answer. Admin has the option to turn off this feature * All communication between an expert and visitor is posted on the website and archived. * No traffic limits * Protected MySQL database data storage * Users and experts can submit suggestions to Admin **Expert Profile Page** * Each expert has a “profile page?? which displays the following information: biography, expertise, average time it takes this expert to answer questions, number of questions in the past 24 hours, max number of questions to be asked, total number of questions since becoming a member expert, and a link to ask this expert a question. Admin can choose which fields of data to show on this page. **Expert Back Office** * Experts have a “back office?? where they can view their statistics including the following: average time it takes them to answer a question, number of questions in the past 24 hours, total number of questions since becoming an expert, and the date they became an expert. Experts can also edit their biography, email address and other registration data. * Experts can set a limit on the number of questions they receive during a 24 hour period. If their chosen limit has been met, their section will state “unavailable??. * Experts can make themselves “unavailable?? by setting the limit on the number of questions to “0??. This will be useful if they are on vacation. * Experts can view the questions submitted to them and answers the questions from here. **Template Management** * Template management options to customize data output on our website. Full layout and design control. Easy adapting with our web site design and style. * People who register to be an expert must be approved by the administrator. The administrator can create the registration form with custom fields. **Administration Back Office** * Detail statistics and analysis ??" Admin can view each expert’s statistics including the following: average time it takes them to answer a question, number of questions in the past 24 hours, total number of questions since becoming an expert, and the date they became an expert. * Admin can choose to show “last 10 questions asked?? on the main page of each main category. Admin can change the number of questions shown. * Admin can add and remove an expert from the system * Admin can add and remove a question and answer * Admin can remove an expert’s comment which was left on another expert’s answer * Simple and easy to understand error messages. Admin has full layout and message text control * Admin can manage permissions for experts. Experts can be given permission for more than one category or one category only. Experts can be given permission to leave comments on other expert’s answers. * Admin can mass email all experts or email individual experts _**IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS:**_Must have 100% satisfaction Guarantee. Script must be 100% efficient and reliable. Script must be organized with source code comments for future developers. All proper naming conventions must be used. Must include easy-to-follow installation and set-up instructions. Operation of all features and functions must be simple, easy and user-friendly with a professional and polished appearance for both users and Admin. Must be designed for flexibility and easy html site integration. Must be able to run on [[login to view URL]][2] web hosting system. Programming languages will be CGI, Perl, PHP, and [login to view URL] MySQL database on a Linux operating system. Must be able to run on all 3.0+ versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape. _**Deliverables:**_ 1) Complete and fully-functional working program in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition - Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. 3) Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform MySQL database on a Linux operating system. Must be able to run on all 3.0+ versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape.
