Joomla Shopping Cart Component for Chinese Takeaway

I have developed a website for a Chinese Takeaway using the OpenCart framework and the website is still operating OK but I now want to develop a Joomla component that will perform the same tasks but stripped down to only include functionality that is relevant to this type of business. The system does not require any payment processing, all payment is done by cash when the food is either delivered or collected. There is no stock control either. Operation To help explain the order process I have attached 5 pdf flowcharts which give an overview of how the system works. The customer has to login first and if the Chinese takeaway is open, they can choose which dishes they would like to order. Note I use the word "open" because a Chinese takeaway is not like Amazon or EBay as it is not open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. OpenCart did not have this functionality so I installed a "mod" to setup opening time schedules. When choosing dishes, it's also worth noting that many dishes also come with a choice of side:- rice, chips, egg fried rice or soft noodles. Rice or chips are included within the dish price but for egg fried rice and soft noodles, there is a small additional charge. The takeaway offers delivery which is free of charge on orders over £20 to addresses within a 3 mile radius. Orders under £20 within a 3 mile radius incur a delivery charge of £1.50 whilst orders over 3 miles away a charged at £1 per mile. We also want to include an additional function (not included in the OpenCart version) and that is to block orders over 5 miles away. The charges, distance and takeaway address are set in the backend admin and Google Maps API is used to calculate the distances. When an order is placed (with the current OpenCart system), only 1 email is generated and that is sent to an email address owned by the takeaway. A laptop in the takeaway has a piece of software called Automatic Email Manager [login to view URL] which is setup to check that email account every 30 seconds and prints out all new orders. To avoid the spam and non-order emails being printed out, we hacked OpenCart to add a 16 digit code in the subject line of order emails. In the Automatic Email Manager software you can then setup this as 16 digit cod a filter so only orders (generated by OpenCart) are printed. The format of the email is very important as they are printed on an Epson TM-V receipt printer. We have included a scanned example of the format I require. Note if the customer orders 3 dishes and chooses boiled rice with each, there is a single line saying boiled rice with the quantity being 3. It needs to be simple as English is not the staff's first language and there is also a Chinese translation of each dish next to the English name. Further points - Clone website address [login to view URL] - Clone website address htaccess parameters: username kevin, password keegan. - Development work must be performed on your own localhost. - The completed project should be an installable component that is compatible Joomla 3.x. - You can use Joomla Component Developer to create the initial application as we have an account. - SEF URLs for both the categories (of dishes) and the dishes themselves. - Currency is £pound sterling but this is set in the backend admin - There is NO requirement for stock levels. - A number of freelancers have asked why don't I continue using OpenCart. OpenCart is not designed for Takeaway businesses but rather mail order and to get it working involving installing around 20 VQMod scripts. Instead I want a single installable Joomla component.
