Wordpress MU Community Tech Guy

I have 3.2.1 wordpress MU installed on my host with buddypress and buddyboss theme. For some strange reason, I am not seeing the "image upload directory" option in Media settings. I think it is a glitch with my install. Also, I have 600 users in my buddypress community, but only 300 show up as users of the site. I need someone to go through my install, database with a fine tooth comb and work out the kinks. I have currently deleted all plugins , including buddypress and the errors are still [login to view URL] project can lead to long term web maintenance of our community.
