Hi, we're stuck on a small project, so we want to find if someone could help us out (we don't now if it is even possible what we want to do): On our wordpress site (members only) we have a number of functionalities that make use of custom data in the database which the members can use to track certain things. This data is being retrieved from our external business website. This website is secured, we have to log in, https,..). The way we do it now is a temporary workaround and slow, so we would want to make this process fast and easy: On the secured third party website, we download some business reports on a daily basis in excel format. In excel we have written a macro that automatically logs in to the site, downloads the reports (windows dom), imports them to excel, and then uploads them to our wordpress website. However, it would be great if we could automate this further (so not dependant on a windows pc). Ideally there some sort of connection from our wordpress site that gets the data from the external site and updates our wordpress database frequently and we don't have to worry about it anymore. Don't know if this is possible? Probably a small task for someone who know the way?

Hi. There are definitely ways to do what you have asked without being dependent on a "windows pc". I have a ready-to-go software (which I have customized myself) to do such "bot" tasks -> in addition to excel scraping, the bot can also open emails, XML sheets, Microsoft Word files, etc. and process the content; and, the bot can be adjusted to work on scheduled periods.
