Integrating a daily file into emarketing platform

Our eMarketing platform is called StarMail. In our platform we have databases of email contacts which are used to trigger HTML emails. Our API documentation is here [login to view URL] We have a requirement to sort data from a daily .csv which is sent to an SFTP and integrate that data with a database in our platform. This daily feed contains a list of vehicle information which will eventually be populated in a dynamic email sent with StarMail (each row contains a unique vehicle). The file includes fields such as ‘Vehicle Make’, ‘Vehicle Model’, ‘Color’, ‘Image Reference’ (this is a URL). We have an existing database of contacts in StarMail and, in order to trigger these dynamic emails, we need to populate this existing database with information from the .csv using our API. The existing database also has fields such as ‘Vehicle Make’, ‘Model’ etc. We have created new empty fields within this database that need to be populated with the data in the .csv. Fields are titled UC_Make, UC_Model etc. We need to populate the new fields for contacts who meet a particular criteria. For example, contacts for which ‘Vehicle Make’ is ‘BMW’ will need to be updated with a BMW from the .csv file. Contacts for which ‘Vehicle Make’ is ‘Vauxhall’ will need to be updated with a Vauxhall from the .csv file. Note: The Image Reference field in the .csv file contains multiple URLs within one field which are separated by comma. Only one URL should be fed into the StarMail database. We see the process as follows: SFTP receives .csv file from our client Contacts are pulled from StarMail via API based on search criteria (e.g. ‘Vehicle Make’ is ‘BMW’ or ‘Vauxhall’) Data from the .csv file populates the required fields in the StarMail database Contacts are pushed back into StarMail This will run daily so different data from the .csv file will be in StarMail each day. We have test data ready to run this over a 3 day trial period before setting this up for a number of our clients.
