First and foremost, this scenario is similar to Challonge & Toornament. I'm looking for someone to assist me in building a couple PHP classes that focus on creating single or double elimination brackets, advancing players, moving players to the loser's bracket, and creating third place matches. In MySQL, the matches will have their own table. I'm assuming double eliminations would use two brackets, thus a brackets table as well. I'd like to do this with some decent OOP, working with entities (Symfony/ORM). I have a basic formula for single elimination, I just need to figure out how to deal with third place matches. Double Elimination is more complicated obviously, so I need collaborative thinking on this. I need to deal with this situation as quickly as possible. I hope someone out there has great knowledge & experience on these types of situations.
