Wordpress PHP/HTML/CSS Theme Customization

My website is an AirB&B like model, where users can sign up for an account to post their services (fishing trips) and customers can book and pay for those services. We used a pre-built theme and customized it to our needs. I have the theme files in a repository and it deploys to my staging and production websites (manually, not automatic). What we are looking for currently is to adjust/update the search results page when a user enters their search criteria (includes location, date, and # of people). How the process works now: 1) User enters their search criteria and clicks search (see screenshot labeled [login to view URL]) 2) Results display in a grid style of all individual fishing trips that meet that criteria (see screenshot labeled [login to view URL]). So if a captain has multiple fishing trips that meet that criteria, each trip will be displayed individually. 3) User can click on desired trip which takes them to the individual trip page where it describes the service in detail and where the user can reserve, book, and pay for the trip. (see [login to view URL]) What we need: 1) User enters their search criteria and clicks search. 2) Instead of individual trips being displayed, the results would instead show all the captains that have a fishing trip that meets that criteria. So even if they have multiple trips meeting the search criteria, the captain would only appear ONCE in the search results. Results also need to display in a list style instead of the grid style. The list style already exists, we just need to change it to the default display style and remove the option for the user to click on grid style. See screenshot labeled search results. 3) User clicks on desired captain, where it takes them to their static profile page (see [login to view URL]). In this this page, it currently displays all the trips the captain has available. However, these trips are NOT filtered by the search criteria coming from the search results page. We need them to only show those trips that meet the search criteria after landing on the captain's profile page. A user would then click on the desired trip within the captain's profile page which takes the user to the individual fishing trip page where they can review the trip details and book the service is satisfied.
