Auto assign PDF print settings, and print files, based on file content The scope of the project is to create a desktop program that will automatically adjust “Page Size & Handling Options” in Adobe PDF printer based on text found within the document and automatically print in batches. These are shipping labels and packing slips. Currently we are forced to spend hours printing labels and manually selecting the “Page Size & Handling Options” for each label. Contractor will create a program that will do the following. Allow the user to select a folder containing multiple pdf files Sort files ascending by date and time after the folder has been selected Open the first file and search for one of the following… 1. “Returns are accepted for any reason” Rule Name: ebps If this text is found in the file it will print with the “Page Size & Handling Options” of CUSTOM SCALE @ 80 PERCENT AND LANDSCAPE ORIENTATION. 2. “U.S. POSTAGE PAID” Rule Name: uspslbl If this text is found in the file it will print with ACTUAL SIZE, PORTRAIT 3. “on amazon marketplace” Rule Name: amzpack If this text is found in the file it will print with FIT, PORTRAIT 4. “ComPlsPrice” Rule Name: uspslbl If this text is found in the file it will print with ACTUAL SIZE, PORTRAIT 5. “Microsoft Pri 99.0A” Rule Name: upslbl If this text is found in the file it will print with ACTUAL SIZE, PORTRAIT 6. “P: 1-786-262” Rule Name: webpckslp If this text is found in the file it will print with FIT, PORTRAIT The program will close the file after the label has been printed and start the process again with the next file in the folder. The labels must be printed in order. If none of the above text is found for a particular document the program will output an error message with that file name(s) after the print job has been completed. If no errors found a message will be displayed saying XofX documents have been printed The program will have a settings option to adjust rules. We currently have 6 rules programmed above. The rules need to be editable. Example Rule “uspslbl” is currently set to “ACTUAL SIZE, PORTRAIT”. We also need the option to add and delete rules for future file formats. All PDF files are in searchable format. Contract is welcome to submit a proposal for alternate methods of achieving the same result.
