Shopify/Stripe Custom Checkout Development

I currently have a Shopify store in the rental product space. I am looking for a developer familiar with Stripe and also Shopify that can assist in creating a custom checkout process for our site. - My site is currently on Shopify, ideally, at some point in the future I would be able to go more custom as Shopify is not really set up for rentals, and I am using a rental app. However, it is a bit clunky and not the most user friendly, but I am getting off-topic! Because its a rental business, I do not charge the customer until their order ships e.g., if they place an order for two weeks from now, I don't need to charge them until sometime next week when it would ship out. Shopify payments only let you hold a payment without capturing it for seven days, so I use [login to view URL] as it allows me to hold for up to 30 without capturing. This has been working ok, but when it comes to extending orders for customers, assessing late fees, and in the event of a customer not returning items, I would like to have the ability to hold a card on file. Stripe is capable of this, and my thought would be instead of taking anything upfront i would just have the customer's card authorized for a dollar, and then I could run the card when I need to run it, assess extra fees etc. I asked a local developer in Austin about this a while ago, and the steps he gave me that he thought would be required are below. Workflow -Customer selects the camera/product -Customer should be able to see the price and go through the custom checkout process -Customer will only be charged $1 at checkout -You will be able to charge full price manually when order is fulfilled - You will be able to login to the app and click fulfilled, or it could be done automatically when the order is fulfilled through Shopify -You will have the option to charge the customer afterward if needed, in case the product got damaged or if the customer kept it longer than expected, etc. Scope of Work -Setup base app and implement on Herouku -Database design -Custom checkout layout -App layout design -Stripe integration -Webhook/API integration for order, customer, etc -Add the ability to charge the customer on fulfillment -Later order approval module and payment through stripe using the app. -Testing/Debugging/fixes. I don't know if this is accurate or if it is even correct. Please let me know your thoughts, if you think you can do something like this or if you have any suggestions on implementing something like this.
