SlapOS is an Spen Source / Free Edge Computing system created by Nexedi. See [login to view URL] It is used to deploy commercial big data cloud systems, edge computing solutions, to orchestrate complex business applications. It can act as a SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, DraaS, etc. All Nexedi development relies on SlapOS. We are looking for a python developer to refactor the slapformat command in a modular way so that its code is easier to maintain and so that it supports different options to create partitions or different OS through modules. As part of the project, all existing options should be supported through modules. A new option should be added through a module to implement single user operation of SlapOS, in the same way as Slaprunner does to create partitions. The refactored slapformat and modules should be covered by tests that can be executed in various targer environments (Debian, CentOS, SuSE, etc.). This project is interesting for any python developer looking for a reliable alternative to docker, openstack, kubernetes, etc. Success on this project will lead to much larger projects. slapformat code to refactor: [login to view URL] Slaprunner code that should be integrated as a new slapformat option and module: [login to view URL]

I am a bit familiar with Python CLI tools. Not the best experience if you need to run it on Python 2/3. Can you give me a link to some tutorial where slapformat all features are exposed to understand intended usage scenarios and roadmap for extension? Depending on UX choices a different CLI frameworks should be used. And config libraries.
