I'm looking to get a PGA Tour Golf Model built. Essentially, I want to determine a player's probability for winning a tournament, based on certain data metrics. It will be used for betting purposes. You Would go to [login to view URL] and scrape the following variables for season 2018 / 2017 / 2016: 1. Victory Leaders: [login to view URL] - this is effectively the strike rate – how often do they win per tournament entered 2. Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green - [login to view URL] 3. Strokes Gained: Putting - [login to view URL] 4. Scrambling: [login to view URL] Other considerations that I’m not sure how to collect: • Favourite courses – how did each golfer go last time they played at that course? Hard when some annual tournaments are played at different tracks. • Current form – what was each golfer’s finishing positioning in their last five tournaments? • Weather – how do we identify golfers that play great in bad conditions? The favourite tracks information would help if we can’t filter by rain / wind / heavy tracks When you apply for this job, include ideas for how to extract those last three variables. Please include relevant experience of similar tasks too. The more experienced you are, the more likely you'll be used for this job and other similar tasks in the future. Hello, my name is Andrés. First of all, thank you for considering my bid. I am an industrial engineer with more than four years of experience in the simulation, process improvement and data analysis fields. Within this experience, I have developed advanced skills in Statistics, data analysis, and the necessary software to handle the topics within it. SPSS and Excel, mainly. I would develop a SEM model in SPSS to construct the probability of winning for each player according to your suggested variables. I would cross reference the last three based on the data of previous tournaments. Besides that model, we cold examine montecarlo simulation depending if you want a tool for the future. I have developed models under the two approaches and I have basic knowledge about the sport and the vocabulary. I have a good hands on working with Advanced Excel, R and Python. I have quite a good knowledge of deep learning Algorithm , have also developed dashboards and Shiny Web Application in R I have also god experience with BI tools and Data Mining Tools such as Tableau, KNIME, WEKA, QLIKSENSE etc. I understand the project requirement and will deliver the desired product within the time specified.

Hi, I use R for data analysis and machine learning. I would like the challenge of building an accurate golf model that can give likely winners in tournaments based on previous observed performance. For the missing stats, I propose looking at other stats on the site such as points/rankings of the last 5-15 games, linking to weather data sites to check the weather conditions at the golf course on the day of the tourney. For favourite courses, I haven't found a likely source but am sure we can find a reliable data source with some research. I have some experience building machine learning systems such as a recommendation engine. Regards, Chris
