We're looking for someone with industrial design experience to develop a conceptual design for an automotive aftermarket product that we're interested in developing. The product is to be sold for a specific vehicle and provides an integrated storage/entertainment/workspace solution for passengers sitting in the rear seat. The product will be affixed to the back of each front seat. We have provided a conceptual specification that outlines what we're looking for. The person we want is someone who can create a workable conceptual design—that is, a design that can be evalated for viability and ultimately expanded to become a full product design. The output of your work will be a design description, drawings and, if appropriate, a 3-D Model. The candidate we choose should have a background in industrial design, should be comfortable with 3D modeling, and should understand that cool designs that can't be manufactured economically are not what we're looking for. The candidate should provide us with a general description of his/her approach to this problem along with other pertinent information.

Hello, What an awesome project and one that I would really like to be part of, I've read your brief and I'm sure I could design something that does not only meet all of the functions required but also fits the Tesla aesthetic . I am an Industrial Designer with experience working for Ford and GM as a designer/Alias Modeller so I can provide sketch and 3D model solutions. I've bid $750 and freelancer added their fee to that. This is for 25 hours of work which would be divided into a couple of hours research, then brainstorming sketches from which the best ideas will be refined down to a final concept. The final concept can then be sketch modeled for presentation purposes and a basic BOM can be made. Final drawings with dimensions can also be provided but final production ready 3D models or drawings are out of the scope of this budget but can be negotiated. I have 25 years working in product design and manufacturing I have the skills to take any product right through the design process to a level ready for manufacture. working for many international companies such as Wallmart, Speedo, Hitachi, Visa, Tommie tippie and Tomy. To date I have assisted in taking over 40 products into production and have been responsible for creating IP for many other companies. I have been using Solidworks since 1998 so have a great understanding of 3D CAD modelling and rendering. There are 3 basic stages (milestones )to my work. Stage 1 – initial concepts Stage 2 – design refinement based on your feedback from stage 1 Stage 3 – Development of chosen concept – this will look at developing parts for manufacture or prototyping.
