I need a web-based tool that allows users to
design their own custom glass pipe, used for
smoking tobacco.
For examples of the kind of pipes I'm talking about,
see attached files.
The tool will guide the user to create a custom pipe.
The user will be presented with a 3D basic pipe,
and will be instructed to choose from a series of
modifications ("mods") to change their pipe and
make it custom.
Some of the mods will be: glass thickness, pipe
height, alterations of color, the type of smoking
bowl, pipe decorations, the shape of various
areas of the pipe, etc.
The coder must be able to create 3D images
of various mods that will pop into place on the
pipe when selected. Approximately 50 mods will
need to be drawn as part of the project.
The interface must be easy to use and nearly
immediately usable and learnable by people
visiting the site.
The designer does not have to have experience
with using pipes, but must be willing to learn
enough to create the interactive tool.
The designer must be willing to work in cooperation with
the coder named Carrot, as I rely upon him to
help me create successful projects. Carrot
will be creating the website that surrounds and
embeds this tool.
A design template of various alterations to
a pipe will be available to the user, including
drop down menus for each attribute or mod.
(ex: the thickness of the glass will be a
drop down menu feature that ranges from
10 millimeters to 30 millimeters, for example.
Attached are 2 jpg's that show typical pipes.
You can also google images of water pipes, etc.
Check out [[login to view URL]][1] for more pipe pics.
From the successful bidder, I need to know
what programs you will be using and what languages
so the tool can be successfully integrated with
the website that will surround it.
