SketchUp Modeling from Construction Documents and Photos: Jeff Green

Hello there, I'm glad to hear you're interested in this modeling project! For this project, we are taking the construction documents and photographs of a building, and building a SketchUp model from them. Unfortunately there are some things that are not shown on the construction documents that we need to include in the model. If you see something in the photographs which is not included in the drawings, guess at the dimensions and model it as well as you can based on the photographs. Ignore all furniture, casework, etc. Also, do not include doors, windows, or large garage doors. Just leave an opening which is the correct size for them. Because I plan to bring this model into Unity, there are a few more specific requirements. First, Unity does not render back-faces so it is important that all faces face in the correct direction. I will need this model to be textured, because that makes it possible for me to swap out the textures in Unity later on. The textures that you use do not matter as long as they represent the actual material, and are named after the actual name of the material. If a material is oriented in a particular direction in real life, like wood grain for example, then it is important that you orient the texture the same in the model. I'd be great if you could set every texture to be scaled at 39.3701" x 39.3701". This will look unrealistic, but it makes it easier for me to scale the materials accurately in Unity.
