I am having the same problem with my game. You need to save the location of the object as a variable before resetting it's location. Then get the next location properly and set the characters position to the next location. Fixed it in my game but haven't built it yet. See the game on my webpage and play the demo, when the player wipes out he is reset to the inside sometimes. That's what I fixed and now he goes back to the position he started at. Same for any game object. In this case he switches to an inactive object but that is more complicated. Let me know if you need help.

I have experienced developing for unity and the Oculus GO. I have developed a safety training app for Northumberland water here in the UK ltd. This app used gaze-base gestures and 360 images to guide employees around there HQ in VR. Employees were scored as the VR experience had gamification enabled to track their progress.
