I require a Monte Carlo simulation in excel that will take a whole season of 380 Premier League football fixtures and create 10,000 simulations which show how the final end of season league table might look. BASIS OF SIMULATION I have an excel sheet which contains the probabilities (my estimates) for the win-lose-draw percentages for each of the 380 games. The goal is to run 10,000 random simulations for each match USING THE PROBABILITIES I have entered in each cell. So if I have a match where a team is 67% to win, on balance I would expect the simulation to give approximately 6700 results in favour of that team. For each match we award 3 points to the winning team, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. Then we aggregate these results from all 380 games into a final table. The output will be 10,000 such league tables and I would like to run further analyses of these tables. For instance - in how many of the 10,000 simulations did Man Utd win the league? In how many simyulations did Southampton qualify for the champions League? In how many simulations did Aston Villa get relegated? etc etc. I have attached the excel sheet we need to work with. There are further details in the attched Word Document. PLEASE READ THE FINAL PARAGRAPH "MODIFYING THE SIMULATOR" IN THE WORD DOCUMENT BEFORE QUOTING A PRICE . Freelancers need to be proficient in Excel and possibly Visual Basic (although whichever coding you use is OK by me). They should also have some knowledge of statistics. Although not essential to this project, a casual interest in football would be beneficial. An interest in betting on football would be highly desirable for future projects.

Hi: I have few queries that I would like you to address: (1) I understand that you will run 10,000 simulations for the whole season. Please confirm. (2) How do you want me to handle the draw probabilities for each team? (3) You want to extend the simulator to 1,000,000 events, but I believe that Excel cannot handle this much data. However, this simulation is possible if we do not record the data for all 1M events. Please note that I have 100% completion rate and 5-star feedback on all projects (>50 total completed projects). Hello, my name is Andrés and this looks like a pretty exciting project. I am an industrial engineer with more than four years of experience in the simulation, process improvement and data analysis fields. Within this experience I have developed several skills in MS Excel, and various simulation software like Arena, PowerSim and Simul8. I can handle regression analysis, descriptive statistics, model construccion, complex data analysis, charts, VBA, macros and so on. For this project I would use Excel through with a Montecarlo simulation that would allow to change the number of iterations, and to extract the main statistics you need for every team. Honestly, I would need to discuss my methods with you and to make some research in order to create a good model (that's because I have some doubts). But I love football, the premier league and this field so I would love to work in this. Most importantly, I want to build a excellent reputation here as a freelancer so I will do my very best.

I have the experience of using Monte Carlo simulation in the following projects. 1) Sales projections 2) Service Operations of a Hotel 3) Priority Queue model in Webservers I can solve the project in VBA. Since 380 games need 10000 simulations, the model and code needs to be written with minimum order O(n) so that excel returns faster results. Please ping me to discuss further.
