As a chemical engineer, I am very confident with simulations through adimensional numbers, the key point in this kind of problems is to find the appropriate geometrical parameter (equivalent lenght or diameter) to fit with experimental measurement. Once identified in the literature the applicable formulas for Nu, Re and Pr numbers, I will perform a reverse calculation to find the geometrical parameters that match the results, and then the right calculation method for the heat transfer coefficient.
