you can design the scrubber according to the volume of gas and the amount of liquid in a vertical or horizontal. it can also be centrifugal type if the gas has solid . It all depends on the application, if the scrubber is required in the suction of a gas plant or a fuel system for a turbine gas.

I'm a Chemical Engineer with proven experience designing equipments such as Two-Phase and Three-Phase Separators, Gas scrubbers, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Crude Dehydration Tank, Compressors and others, using design criteria from the American Petroleum Institute (API) and / or design practices from Exxon Movil. To Design the Scrubber, I’m going to need the fluid’s compositions and properties such as density or specific gravity, viscosity, molecular weight and also operations conditions such as flowrate, operating pressure and temperature. Finally I’ll send you and Excel file with the basic and criteria design, the scrubber’s spreadsheet and the scrubber’s sketch. Hi there, So are you a student that needs assistance designing and costing a scrubber system? I wish we had this sort of thing available to us when I was at Uni! So what kind of scrubber system are you proposing? Solid-liquid? gas-liquid? What are the fluids? Do you have all your process data, such as flow rates, temperatures, fluid properties already to go? So many questions, but I've been doing this type of work for nearly 10 years, you need this info when sizing up a system, and costing it. Do you have any suppliers in mind? I have a contact network here in Aus that we can approach for costs. I'm assuming we have a deadline for this? Firstly we'll need to define what kind of scrubber system is needed for the problem (as per above questions). then we need to size it correctly. Once sized, we can get a cost estimate. It may be an iterative process from there, if we can opt for an off-the-shelf system from a supplier, depends on what you need done. A 30% estimate would only take 1 quote. I'll break it down into milestones below. I'm basing the proposal on 1 scrubber only. Regards, Gerard

I have worked on a particulate scrubber before ( spray tower ), and have delivered the final design to the client. 1- could you provide what kind of scrubber do you want ( spray tower, venturi scrubber , ...... ) 2- do you want to remove chemicals, vocs, particulate , ...... ? I have some cases in my past experience related to scrubber design , I hope it will satisfy your needs though. the scrubber design started by seeing the properties of gas to be treated. heavy gas will produce smaller vessel size, vice versa. size of liquid droplet also determine the size of the vessel.
