Hi
I need help in problem of security in windows 2008.
There are 2 hard drives: C, D.
C is the system drive. D is the data and applications drive.
D has folders, for each user: user1, user2, user3 etc.
Admin user has permissions "Full control" to access C and D.
The rest of the users have "Full control" for all C drive, and in drive D - only to their folder (user1 to d:\user1, etc.)
So of course Admin can be in C drive, and change directory to d: such as:
C:\windows\system32> cd /d d:\user1
D:\user1
(The /d parameter in cd command changes drive, with the directory, regular as in dos and windows.)
With user1 trying to the above, I get "access denied", even the users have also administrator permissions, but in D, as said, permission full control only to their folder.
How can it be? How can it be solved?
The problem looks stranger when I try to run some application that is D:\user1, for example: run.exe.
Admin user succeeds the following action:
C:\windows\system32> D:\user1\[login to view URL]
User1 gets "access denied" to the same action.
The strangest issue is that opening a shortcut in desktop of user1, for d:\user1\[login to view URL], runs well.
I need help here.
