The feature that needs attention is on an existing Win10 Java application. The application is architected to have both server and client in one file. There is a .cfg file that allows for selection of server and client function. The seating management system (SMS) is setup in a restaurant with one server and several clients. All computers on this SMS system are clients. One of the computers is both a client and a server. The feature allows for any client to become the server. If for some reason the computer that is running the server code stops working, the user can go to any client can activate this feature so that computer becomes the server. The old server is told to become a client only. The feature works, but not reliably. Sometimes you end up with two servers. Sometimes no servers. Also the system that was the server becoming the client is doing a Windows restart not an application restart.
