I'm a little confused by your description. Here's what I can do for you: I assume your speed feedback is coming from a quadrature encoder going to a chipKiIT uno. There's technically no such thing as 3 phase DC motor, so I'm assuming you have a plain old DC motor and a PWM driver of some sort connected to that same chipKIT uno. It wouldn't make sense to have your speed feedback on one microcontroller and have another microcontroller (the Arduino mega) do the PWM speed control, so I'm assuming you only have one embedded device here, namely the chipKIT uno. LabVIEW code won't run on a micro controller. It needs windows or Linux. So, we'll assume your chipKIT uno is connected to the PC over USB and acting like a serial port, and the chipKIT is actually spinning the motor with speed commands from the PC. The PC is acting like a supervisor, adjusting the PWM duty cycle through a PID controller to reach a setpoint. The rate of update will be limited by the chipKIT's serial port throughput. Expect maybe 100 updates a second. Any more than that and you'll need to go with a higher bandwidth platform like CompactRIO where we can do motor control algorithms in custom FPGA code. If all of these assumptions are correct, then LabVIEW will take a speed measurement from the chipKIT, then write out a PWM duty cycle to increase/decrease torque accordingly to reach the speed setpoint. I'm writing the LabVIEW portion only, the Arduino code will be additional.
