Electrical Circuit Design for a Portable Speaker Project

We are looking to engage a talented electrical engineer with experience in consumer audio products to design the electrical circuitry for a series of portable speakers we are creating. We are a small boutique speaker design startup based in Melbourne Australia. We are currently building a series of 4 portable speaker units with the aim of being 'The biggest sounding portable speakers on the market with the smallest environmental footprint.' This ethos has directed us to make eco-choices for the structural build of the speakers by using sustainably grown ply wood for the inner speaker boxes with the outer facade being constructed of reclaimed fencing palings which gives a rustic vintage appeal. However we are not compromising on sound quality and feature set with our focus being on a well designed speaker box with quality driver selection, solid crossover build and a valve driven circuit design. The 4 speaker models are: Small - 3 Liter - front dimensions - 150mm x 280mm Medium - 6.9 Liter - front panel dimensions - 200mm x 332mm Large - 36 Liter - front panel 384mm x 500mm DJ Model - Same size as large but made horizontal to accommodate a turntable on the top with a dedicated phono and power input. We are looking for an ambitious electrical engineer to achieve the following features: - Bluetooth 4 connectivity - RCA and 1/8 inch audio input - Phone input on DJ model - Single knob design to control volume, on/off (volume right down clicks off) and bluetooth connectivity (push in out) - Valve driven audio circuit - Valve becomes feature on front panel of speaker - 16 hour + battery life - 240v use and charging - Battery life gauge - Wireless stereo connectivity - Solid quality build - Efficient circuit assembly and design utilizing ready designed and manufactured parts where possible Our ideal co-worker will be an audio enthusiast who likes a challenge and can think creatively to complete this range of great speakers. The engineer will be expected to source materials and build prototypes for the 4 models, please see below for an outline of the Project Process. We are aiming to Crowd fund certain aspects of the campaign with a start date for the campaign of 1st of August. Ideally we would have the following Project process finished by mid July in order to have 4 working prototypes (1 of every model) ready for the campaign. Project Process: - Project Outline discussed - Initial design created by electrical engineer - Analyze and discuss design with speaker designer and project management team - Redesign if necessary - Finalize design - Parts sourcing for 4 prototypes of four models. - Electrical engineer to put together 4 prototypes - Mail prototypes to Melbourne for retrofitting into speaker box prototype - Testing - Redesign if necessary - Rebuild and retesting - Sign off on final product design - Prep for manufacturing Other Requirements: 1. 30w continuous for small and medium versions 2. 30 - 100w continuous for large and DJ 3. 4 ohm stable (to be revised) - this may be over part of the range of with some of the models 4. Class AB or Class D ok 5. High pass filter to protect woofers from over excursion 6. Bass boost option 7. Active crossover option - large and DJ version to be bi-amped if cost effective 8.
