Image processing using Matlab

Project: This project intends you to implement the following. You may use MATLAB for the purpose. 1. Take a test color image of size 512x512 and scale the image down to 128x128. 2. Then convert the images to H, S, V color space. 3. Display the V component of 512x512 and 128x128 images. 4. Take the V component of 128x128 test color image and carry out the following: a. Use nearest neighbor (NN) interpolation for image zooming (zooming factor k = 2 and 4). (You may use interp2 function in MATLAB) b. Use bilinear interpolation for image zooming (zooming factor k = 2 and 4). (You may use interp2 function in MATLAB) c. Compute the difference image between the original 512x512 and the zoomed 512x512images (NN and Bilinear). Then compute the energy of the difference image. Comment on the energy of the difference image. 5. Generate a high pass filtered image of original 512x512, V component of the image using the basic 3x3 high pass filter in the lecture slide. Compute the energy of the difference image computed using the original V component and the high pass filtered image. Comment on the filtered image and the energy of the difference image. 6. Generate a low pass filtered image of the original 512x512, V component of the image using the basic 3x3 low pass filter in the lecture slide. Compute the energy of the difference image computed using the original V component and the high pass filtered image. Comment on the filtered image and the energy of the difference image. 7. Use the weighted mean filter given in the lecture set 3 to filter the V component of the original 512x512 image. Compare this filtered image to the filtered image obtained using basic 3x3 low pass filter. You should carry out experiments with at least Two test images (example: Lena, Baboon and Peppers).
