Migrate database records from Microsoft SQL 2008 to Microsoft Azure SQL Database

I have gone through the description. Please provide some details about the existing sql server database as all sql server data types are not supported in Azure sql. I can comment after looking at the database structure.

Hello Sir, I am an expert SQL Server developer and would like to work on this project. May I know how many tables we have in the database (if just 1 database), total size of the database. Besides that there are couple of other items I would like to discuss like would there be any downtime available while we are migrating the database. There are many factors involved if this database is live and being used by application (Which simply means that we will have to follow some strategy to migrate ALL the records.). Hi I have been working with MSSQL for over 17 years. I am fully experienced as a developer and a DBA. Currently I am working at big financial organization in which I am responsible for the BI department. I have designed and the Developed the Organization’s Reporting Database which has been constructed with SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition. The database is being updated daily from the core system with txt or excel files via SSIS or with direct connection at mainframe’s DB2 and a numerous of KPIS are being daily updated during the ETL. For isolation reasons the KPIS are replicated to another DB (with transactional replication) which exploits the reports via SSRS to the consumers. Some KPIS are being replicated with merged (bidirectional) replication. Also, 10 Cubes in SSAS are being daily automatically processed and the end of the ETL. Several other reports are daily automatically produced and sent via email to the recipients. Finally I have designed and developed the bank’s crm DB which is published on the intranet. The DB holds full information about the customers (Customers,Addresses , Financial Data , Contacts , campaigns , etc) and covers 4 countries. To achieve this i have made partitions over the country code. The size of the Reporting DB, is about 4TB and consists of about 4.000 objects and the replicated KPI DB is 350GB. Best Regards mpalgeo

Hi Henry, I read the changes you posted. We can achieve the sync between on prem and azure databases with the help of Azure SQL Data Sync. Hello, I can do that via Import function in Windows Azure. But this depends on the size of your database. Please let me know the number of tables and size of your database.
