Private Song Application

I've been programming for iPhone and iOS since the sdk was released. The first app I developed was the highly successful iBeer, and I have many more apps currently available in the App Store. I've incorporated audio and video players in many of my apps, and many incorporating server calls. I would use a remote procedure call to verify the user's identity and securely feed the file from an otherwise inaccessible folder on the server. On the user's device we would present a player window with standard controls of play, pause, stop, rewind, and volume. As the player is embedded in our program there would be no other possible access of the file, thus copying is prevented. Let me know if you would like to discuss further. I would be honest . I have 2 years of experience in iOS Development . I have 3 apps live on app store and 4th one is in review. out of 3 apps , 2 of them are music apps. First of all i will proceed with UI for this project which would require 6-7 days and $200-300 budget. To download the songs from server , i can create one NSURLConnection wrapper which will download the song from your server to the iPhone app .This functionality would require $200..and rest is playing of the song and other basic functionalities of the app which would require $200 and $100 is freelancer fees. hello I think we need make a private key for the app client from you server we can use http to get the audio data from your server but only the user who has the password can download the key from the server for the audio file then use the key to open the audio file to tmp directory and play it if the audio play to the end then the tmp file is deleted by the app that's all thanks

Hi, first of all i'd like to introduce myself. I'm an engineer from Spain who has made app development his way of living. I'm new at freelancer (i've just finished my third project with great results) but i've been developing native applications for iOS and Android for the past 5 years. Answering your questions, i've already made similar applications. The steps needed to connect to your server and the download stuff will depend on your server implementation and the facilities you already have to perform these task. To secure the audio, it can be renamed and stored in different folders. Using a SQLite database with the relation between new name files and the real file name / data about the song will be enough to avoid the users to get your songs away from devices. They won't be able to get a song if they cannot find them. If you have any doubts, please let me know. Best wishes, Luciano.

Hi, I could certainly help with this. Although I'd need a little more clarification... How does the User acquire their password? Is there a registration procedure contained (natively) within the app? Do they register on a website? Do you provide the passwords manually? I would propose to create a native 'player' to download your content, using an asyncronous server connection. This way the sound-content won't be delivered to a generic library, it could only be played within the app, making it (almost) impossible to copy, although there are a few apps out there that allow you to record, at the point of output... This is unavoidable I'm afraid. You will probably have a lot of bids to go through, so I'll leave it there, but please feel free to get back in touch if you want to chat further...
