We intend to do a pilot project for a car park access system. A Raspberry Pi works as a barrier controller for a car park barrier and a mobile phone app (iOS, / Android) is used for user authorization via Bluetooth Low energy. A detailed functional specification is available on request.

Greetings, I am a very experienced C/C++/node.js architect and developer with a strong communications, systems and hardware background. I have worked on public car park access controller using RPi as barrier controller. Please provide technical details of - barrier (RS485, modbus, relay etc - Traffic light if any - Where to run DB - Control panel / administration - Network I Routinely program program Android/IOS Apps using phonegap/cordova, Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone and Arduino Yun on Linux. I can advise on and build the whole system including implementation of algorithms, backend, database and frontend. I am a REST API specialist and besides the API, I produce API drivers, input validation, clients, schemas, tests and Documentation. I also provide turn-key node.js based solutions including session management and CDN. I am proficient with MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including high performance caching and database security. Please note that this bid is subject to change pending finalization of the specification. Skills and recent projects are listed in my profile overview. I communicate fluently in English and German. GREAT Project! You could actually mix the Pi with an Arduino to control the barriers and all sorts. Bluetooth is a great idea for the interaction too. Have you developed the Android or iPhone app yet? There are also other considerations; for example the Bluetooth implies a security issue. The danger is that a hacker can control the data for the car park or even the database. There are much worse issues in addition. I would recommend two PIs. One pi will interact with the customer. That Pi would not house any personal or control data. Then Pi1 will send login access to Pi2 which actually controls the system. That can be sent over secure channel network or even a radio for(1KM) . Just ideas, without seeing your specs, it is what we have got, but you want your programmer to explain their proficiency with these things first. Another great idea for you to make it even easier for your customers is to provide access based on a Token. For example, that customer has a subscription or a membership. You can provide access additionally via their hardware address in their phone. Then the system would be automated just be them entering the network. You can even add a chip or card RFID reader to the PI or an Arduino for secondary access. Again no specs guy, so I am simply explaining how the project could be done. Looks like you are in Germany?
