Lazarus Software Developer for Mac OSX (Project 1 of many)

We are a software developer of commercial products for the CNC, Sign and Print industries and are seeking a programmer with Mac OSX and a Lazarus background and skill set to assist us further develop our software product range. The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience: • Mac OSX • Lazarus Note 1 : If you do not have experience with Mac OSX and programming with Lazarus (Pascal) your application will not be considered. Project Overview: We need a simple program written in Lazarus that is able to detect a list of serial port devices (such as FTDI VCP), and USB Printer devices. When one of these devices is selected from a drop down the program must be able to write data to the device, and in the case of a COM port (or USB to serial adapter or virtual COM port), set the Baud rate and flow control settings. Hardware and software (Xon/Xoff) flow control must be supported. The program also needs to be able to read strings of text from these devices (when supported by the device). This is a relatively small project, however, if a candidate can complete this task successfully it will lead to more contract work in this and any other areas of the candidate’s competence.
