Auction Website

THE PROJECT: An auction website specializing in gift card auctions. Users of the website will be able to sell, buy or trade their gift cards. As this market already has several big name companies backing existing websites, we are looking for someone with the skill and expertise to design and develop a quality website that will stand out among the rest. GENERAL: The website will incorporate SSL or TSL pages to ensure security. It will have dynamic auction pages that will continuously be generated and deleted as the auction is created and completed. It will have user accounts and a database that will save these user accounts and allow changes to be made by the users, the database administrator, or automatically. Profiles will be created by each user that are to be accessible to every registered user. A simple search engine will be in place on the page. Site will have a feedback and request form that comments will be emailed to me. When users sign up for the website they will be emailed an authorization code which will contain a link and/or a code which they will click to complete registration. The main page will have a standard design with links, the header tables will have links similar to the websites I have provided as examples. The design and graphics will be done by you in the color scheme we agree upon. The main page will have a constantly updating table with links to auctions that sellers choose to have placed in there. Users who log into the website will not have to log in every time they visit, their sessions will be saved locally. Web tracking and statistics are to be incorporated as well. All transactions will be done through Paypal. MORE SPECIFIC: - SSL or TSL security for users while signing up and posting auctions. - Auction style website, where auctions will be posted for a specific time selected by sellers and removed automatically. - Users of the website will sign up for accounts and will have basic account management capabilities such as changing their password, email, and will have bidding history, auctions that they have posted etc. There will be a ratings system in place for the users of the site that everyone can see and buyers and sellers to comment upon and rate. - Administrator, who will be myself must be able to manage auctions, users, easily change portions of the website, and be able to view usage statistics, and tracking of user activity. - Website must be clean, attractive and fast loading. - Auctions search field will be accessible from any page. The auctions posted will be from a static list of possible gift card retailers so the search engine will be simple in design. - There will be a feedback/request/comments form that registered buyers and sellers can use to email me any problems they might have. - Transactions will be done through PayPal.. - People who sign up to the website will provide their information and an authentication email will be sent to them with a link or code that will verify their identity. - There will be a main page with standard design and links. The design and graphics are to be done by you and use a color scheme we agree upon. The main page will have a log in area, and a dynamically updating field that contains auctions people choose to include on the main page (Similar to this website). There will be other pages for placing auctions, searching for auctions, a directory listing, user account management page, and several other pages including faq, about, etc. - Cookies or any other way of saving a users log in session will be used so users do not have to log in and out every time they visit the site. - Customer information that was given during sign up will be saved to a secure location and I should be able to export this information. - The logo for the website is to be designed by you, it should be simple and incorporate the color scheme and theme.
