Upgrade/Port Access Database Program for Network Environment Use

Buyer is serious about this project but unsure of the costs. If the project is in the wrong price category, Buyer will close the project and re-open it under a different category. Buyer uses a custom program access 2000 program (*.mde, *.mdb available) to process received excel spreadsheets. The program and database currently reside on a laptop in a networked (MS SBS 2003) environment. Buyer would like to update/upgrade/port the program so the database component could reside on the server and the interface or program component could reside on more than one computer. The idea being that Buyer or someone else could work on current spreadsheets from different workstations. (non-simultaneous). Secondarily, two people could work on different aspects of the database simultaneously. Another, and perhaps more important, requirement is the ability to make a local copy of the database to the laptop that currently has the program. Currently, buyer routinely removes the laptop from the network, works on pending excel spreadsheets submits them via Outlook or another email program. The new program or method should be able to copy back the local - now newest version - to the server when the laptop is returned to the network so the latest updated database on the network is always current and available. In the scenario related here, Bidder could assume that no one else will make changes to the database on the server while it has been copied to the local laptop for work outside of the network. (The database on the server should be locked or otherwise inaccessible). Buyer does not want to work on the server version from the laptop remotely via VPN as these processes are generally slower and depend upon the availability of broadband internet access that is not always available. Buyer prefers not to provide the current [login to view URL] to bidder. If the project cannot be accomplished from [login to view URL], Buyer can repost the project with non-disclosure requirement ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Fully functional program, all source code, etc
