Web interrogation of a MySQL database

I have a large MySQL database of articles. The data structure is a single table with elements which include such things as the category of the article (about a dozen), the title, a description and the article itself, in HTML code. I need code on my website which will enable users to interrogate this database, viewing (a) lists of articles in a category (b) descriptions of individual articles (c) the content of the article. A keyword search on "Title" or "Description" will be provided. They can then, at this stage, see the text of the article as it would appear in, say an email newsletter. They can copy this, as well as the HTML code for insertion into a web. I'll take care of the web page design. All I need is the code for the individual pages. PHP will probably be the preferred language. A PDF is available which goes into more detail. It also has a link to my draft of the new website, in which everything is workable and clickable.
