I would like a PHP or Perl bot that could join a IRC channel and log the messages of a certain user into a Mysql database. This bot must break the message down however (pm me for more info on the break down) and enter it into a Mysql database. I would also like it to search the database and display the information on a webpage depending on what the user searched. I currently have a script that does this but it's deprecated due to PHP5 that is out now. I would really like it if someone could take my old script and update it for PHP5 and add the things I want to it (that would be more Ideal for me).

Hello there, Post to an IRC server involving working with sockets and actually IRC protocol is quite simple that can be easily deal with PHP or any other language. It's good that you already have the old one working, we can have a look on that to see clearly what did it do to re-implement it. I have already written IRC-Bots in Perl and in Ruby and am somewhat versed with the protocol. Additionally i have experience with PHP and think i will be able to alter your existing script accordingly. Please make sure, that you have your desired changes ready, in case you decide to make use of my services, so that i can begin my work immediatly.

I've been working with PHP since 1999 with PHP4 and switched to PHP5 some years later. I've done some migration jobs Also I've worked with scripts that connects to IRC servers. So that's why I'm bidding on this one and offering a lower fee.
