I believe this is a simple project for the right coder. I need to send a GET request on page load, to a particular url that returns data in an XML format. As this url is not a web service, we need a script that will insure the data is returned to the page that initiated the request. I understand that this can be addressed with a javacript xmlhttprequest. However any method that gets the job done efficiently will be fine. Once the information is returned to the sending page, it will need to be parsed into variables that can be utilized in a php environment. The variables will denote insurance plan names and the associated plan pricing. It has to work within the three top browsers.
Following is a get request example.
(You will not have to create the request. You need only to create the script that will get the information back and parse it into variables. )
When parsing the resulting XML we need variables for Plan names and pricing. For example:
<OutputRates CoInsurance="**80/20**" Deductible="**5000**">,
is the XML that designates the plan name
<OutputTotal>119.49</OutputTotal>
is the plan price. The resulting variable should look like this:
$plan80-20-5000=119.49
Thanks.
