Active Directory Sync with Excel Spreadsheet or database

I need to create an "engine" that will look at a exel spreadsheet or database file and will update user information in Microssoft Active Directory (LDAP). Job Title (Description) Office (physicaldeliveryofficename) etc. This process will be scheduled to run daily at midnight and will update the LDAP according to the information pulled from our personnel database. We are currently pulling the data manually from the database in the form of a Excel spreadsheet and run scripts that pull information from the excel fields and updates active directory.
