A simple tool to query the google places API and store the results locally in a csv and the images as files. The input parameters for the tool are location (long,lat), radius and business type (optionally expandable with a string search). The output should be a CSV file with all data available via the places detailed search. The tool should not only store the links to the retrieved photo’s, it should also download these photo’s. Basically the tool should first query the places api using the radar search option, this results in a list of business, locations and place_id’s. These ‘place_id’s’ should be used as input for the detailed search. The result of this query is a structured data dump with a lot of details about the requested business. This data should be added to the CSV. Most of the businesses in google places have photo’s attached to there record. In the data retrieved via the detailed search the key to these photo’s is stored (photoreference). The tool should download these photo’s locally and store the filename in the CSV (the filename can be the same as the photoreference / key). Find attached the layout of the CSV file. Hello. I would like to help You out with the project You have posted. I've previously worked on many XML/JSON based projects. I've used also Google API's (Adwords, Analytics, Maps, Auth). I havent used the palces api before but before writing that proposal I checked the workflow how it works and the documentation - seems easy enough. If I would be chosen I'd rather use JSON response as the parsing is way faster than XML but this does not show any affect on the end result. I write easily extendable object oriented SOLID PHP which is documented aswell so any new developers can read and understand the code.
